Offered for sale is this stunning Porsche 356 Speedster replica, a 1957 Speedster Outlaw Widebody by Classic Motor Carriages.  This is, far and away, the most well constructed and dependable Speedster replica we’ve seen, with only one dedicated owner from 1988 to 2015.  During that time, this car was sorted to the point of obsession from the ground up.  The chassis is an IRS 1976 VW, with a beautifully rebuilt 1766cc motor, including dual Dell’Orto carbs, 041 heads, Engle W100 cam and lifters, 69×90.5 fuel injected case (align-bored with case savers), 8mm head studs, new German main, rod, and cam bearings, cylinders honed with new Grant rings, 26mm oil pump, Merged ceramic coated headers, and a shortened Stinger exhaust – this car runs incredibly well, with a strong power curve, instant throttle response, and a terrific sound. The 4-speed manual shifts buttery smooth with excellent clutch feel, and the steering is light, precise, and sporty. The body finishing is as beautifully done as the mechanicals, with a professionally finished interior, expensive carpet kit, padded roll bar, fresh VDO gauges (including cylinder head temp), finished wood underdash with switches for the headlamps, fog lamps, radio and power antenna. The wiring on this vehicle was done to aircraft standards front to back, and all the accessories work perfectly.  The engine area and trunk are finished to a very high standard, and the underneath is show quality to match the top.  The soft top is in terrific condition, and two Plexiglas windows with vents can be deployed from their storage location under the soft top. Also included are a pair of custom embroidered “speedster” floor mats. The car comes with a full set of records since new, documentation on the kit, and a small box of parts.  Also included are the static “meatball” stickers that can be quickly installed to give the car a very vintage racer look.  Additionally, the Lietz-style luggage rack can be easily removed if desired, and used only when necessary.  The brake hubs were drilled to accept the common 5-bolt GM wheel pattern, so changing out the rims to your taste is a piece of cake, or the attractive 15″ ARE rims with knock-offs can be left as they are, sporting Kumho 205-50×15 front and 225×50-15 rear tires.
