1965 ERA Cobra Replica

This is a very accurate car. The original build was in 1984. In 1993, the 2nd owner was lucky enough to find a brand new old service (N.O.S.) 427 block still in its original factory shipping crate. In 1994, the engine was shipped to Ronnie Sox Racing and had the compression lowered to 10.9 from 12.5 to run pump gas. The pistons were then ceramic coated by the company that does all the NASCAR engines…rebalanced.. and reassembled. He then installed a Richmond 5 speed, scatter bell housing, fire extinguisher an the complete accurate pin drive wheel system. In 1998 h replaced the roller rocket system with a newly developed one used for racing, polished the turkey pan and fixed a faulty oil temperature gauge (then the only maintenance done other than fluids). I has the original Jag suspension with 3:75 limited s lip.

The car is low mileage showing 5,375mi. & has Won at least “3 Best Of Shows”. The paint is original black urethane & the leather is original. The rev limiter is under the dash and is set at 6,000 rpm. The tires are new. This Cobra drives straight as an arrow. I have a set of original old world Goodyear tires (non-dot) that are good to mount for car shows. It sports original Lucas head lights and Lucas/ Smith gauges. The auxiliary fans are on a switch on the dash & are used in hot weather which holds the temperatures in check.

Most people mistake this car for an original. I sent the manifold & Weber carbs tp Comp Cam in England, Tenn. where they went completely through the carbs, polished & ported the manifold, installed new braided fuel lines & perfectly adjusted the linkage. It rns unbelievably strong & looks great! I would not recommend this car for an inexperienced driver. The car is well documented & will be missed. I have the original build sheet from ERA. It is extremely well built. Most receipts have been saved. The car is signed by Carol Shelby.
