BLAKELY BERNARDI – Custom, Hand Crafted Roadster…. Painstakingly assembled in the early 80’s by a father and son that specialized in automobile customization. While it doesn’t have the name recognition of an MG, in my opinion it’s a better looking car, much more reliable, with lots more style and comes with many more options. One of its greatest attributes is the leg room; a six foot tall person weighing 200 lbs. can fit and drive this beautiful automobile. The Blakely only had 3 models that were made with fiberglass bodies & separate steel tube frames, as this one is.

This beautiful BERNARDI features a 4 speed manual transmission with a 2.3 L, 4 cylinder overhead valve engine and runs great! The rear end is a Ford differential as are all parts of the “parent car” which was from a 78 Ford. As you can see, all parts were cleaned, primed and painted during the assembly. There is a new battery that provides 800 cranking AMPS. The cooling system was recently drained and replaced, along with the engine oil and filters. This beauty is steered by a Ford rack & pinion steering system which was implanted from the parent car. The fenders are bolted onto the body & gel coated along with the main body. She sits nicely on a set of BF Goodrich 185/70 SR14 black wall radial tires. The windshield is a Tinted one piece safety glass and has dual Lexan tinted sun shades over the driver and passenger”. It also has a driver and passenger adjustable clear Lexan wind deflector wings to minimize the wind noise when cruising with the top down. The rear window in soft top is flexible plastic so you can monitor rear traffic. The detachable door curtains have 2 Lexan sliding windows in each of the extruded aluminum guides which can be stored in the trunk with the custom made cover/bag. The soft-top has a Naughyde cover for when the top is down. There is a chrome luggage rack of the locking truck lid to secure your personal items. The cockpit has driver and passenger seat beats; Turn signal on the steering column; a Stereo with cassette player & two speakers; Two speed wipers (3 blades) – Halogen headlights, Courtesy lights – Leather wrapped steering wheel
